Product Review - PC Butternut Squash Soup

So I'm really easing back into actually cooking and blogging :P

I thought I'd start off with a product review for you.  I discovered this right before the holidays and had to get another pack for my lunches this week.  So good!

Obviously I prefer making things from scratch and building my own recipes... You know, kinda the point of this blog ;)

But sometimes it's just not worth it!  Either you're super busy and need a quick grab and go food... or on this case of this product review - I'm not sure it's actually worth it!

A friend introduced me to this product.  It's all fresh ingredients and can be found in the produce section of the grocery store.  Literally, when you open the package it's only squash and onions etc all pre-chopped.

The best part? It's only $2.99 and I don't have to cut up a squash!

Squash is one of the few foods I really dread dealing with.  I don't love the idea of manhandling raw chicken but it has to be done... squash always feels like I should retire my handy kitchen knife in favour of a ax!

Ok, in all actuality, the best part is that it's all natural and fresh ingredients and you only need to add chicken stalk (or veggie stalk if you want it vegan).  Once cooked you simply puree and voila - soup!

It's damn good too!

Typically when I buy soup (aka - didn't make it myself) its always missing something, tastes blah, or is way too salty.  This guy is perfect and you control the salt.

I keep checking back to see if they have other flavours... but nothing yet.  I'd really love a potato leek that didn't involve me buying and  cutting up leeks :P

Just one of those few products that I will pick over making it myself.

Do you have any products that are game changers?

Any great recent finds?

  1. Hmm... and I thought I've eaten everything PC. I've also nearly lost a few limbs cutting up squash before!
